The device
What it offers you
The OctiPolar body head at work. Your therapist picks the applicator and the settings for the area.
Multi-polar RF
Energy travels between several electrodes in one head, not two, so the heat spreads evenly. Up to 150 W per applicator.
Pulsed magnetic field
Delivered at 15 Hz in the same pass as the radiofrequency. Non-thermal.
VariPulse suction
The body heads lift the tissue into the applicator, so the energy reaches deeper and the contact stays even.
One console, four applicators
OctiPolar at 23.7 cm² and DiamondPolar at 2.9 cm² carry the facial clearance. Two more are built for the body.
Every figure above is taken from the device’s FDA 510(k) summary, K191528. The console holds the tissue at a target temperature for the whole session, which is what keeps a 50 minute pass even.

Questions
Before you book
Does it hurt?
No. Most people describe it as a warm deep-tissue massage. The applicator keeps the skin at a steady temperature, and you tell your therapist if it ever stops being comfortable.
How many sessions will I need?
Body contouring works as a course rather than a single visit. Six sessions about a week apart is the usual plan, and that is why the package is priced the way it is. Your therapist confirms the number at consultation.
When will I see something?
Gradually, across the series. Results build as the course goes on and they are temporary, so most people keep a maintenance session in the calendar.
What is the machine actually doing?
Venus Legacy is a Class II prescription device from Venus Concept. It combines multi-polar radiofrequency at 1 MHz with pulsed magnetic fields, and the body applicators add VariPulse suction that lifts the tissue into the head. The heat goes into the deeper layer while the suction works the surface.
Can it be used on the face?
Yes. It is the only device we have with a facial indication, using the DiamondPolar applicator. See the regulatory note at the foot of this page for exactly what that clearance covers.
How is it different from VelaShape III?
Different jobs. VelaShape III is body-only and is built around shape: dimpling, circumference, a smoother line. Venus Legacy is built around skin quality: crepiness, laxity, facial wrinkles. See the VelaShape III page.
Is there any downtime?
None. People go back to their day straight afterwards. The treated area is usually warm and pink for a while. Bruising is the side effect that shows up most often in the published studies, which is worth knowing before a session rather than after one.
Who should not have it?
The device is not for everyone. Pregnancy, a pacemaker or other implanted electrical device, metal implants in the treatment area, active cancer treatment and some skin conditions all rule it out or need a doctor first. Your therapist screens for this before your first session.
